Emmy 2014 Jewelry

Last night was Emmy night in Hollywood. While it's usually not the biggest night for jewelry, I was nevertheless glued to the TV hoping to catch a glimpse of some fabulous red carpet bling. Here are a few of my faves from television's biggest and brightest:

Leaf Motif Time

When it gets to be close to the fall season, I start thinking about things like apple cider, football season and cooler weather. Naturally, my jewelry thoughts take a turn towards autumn and falling leaves with leaf motif jewelry, like this 18k yellow gold Verdura ring.

August Green

I wasn't a true peridot fan for many years. Probably because I'd never seen a really stunning example of one. Sometimes the green color can be washed out or even a dirty, greyish green. This one, for example, isn't calling my name in the least.

But when you see a well-cut, intense green peridot, you might change your thoughts on August's birthstone, like I have. 

LadyAmythest69 posted pics of her luscious, grass green Peridot ring from M. Khordipour several years ago on Pricescope. I've never forgotten the color of her fabulous stone.

cellentani's 3.46 carat Pakistani peridot also blew my mind with the vibrant, clean green color. I think the pictures speak for themselves:

Peridot is said to protect its wearers against negativity and nightmares. With images like this in my mind, I will be having sweet dreams tonight, indeed. 

Real Housewives Bling

If you love the blingy stuff and are like me, you are constantly looking for fabulous jewelry on celebs when you're watching TV. Like me, the other night watching The Real Housewives of New York reunion show. It's not unusual to see most if not all of them dripping in gorgeous gems, so I was glued to the screen. 

What caught my eye? Heather Thomson (pictured here on the right, with Carole Radziwill).

There on her left hand was what appeared to be an enormous fancy yellow diamond eternity band. I couldn't get more than a glimpse of it, but I spent the entire hour trying to see it in all its glory. (If you look closely, you can see it in this photo). 

I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. I've always been a lover of fancy colored diamonds and having never even seen a giant fancy colored eternity personally, you can imagine the fleeting images of her ring are now burned on my brain. Searching for some inspiration, I found these beauties.

Or how about this 18k yellow gold stunner by JB Star, complete with 4.53 carats of Fancy yellow radiant cut diamonds surrounded delicately by .80 carats of round fancy yellow pave? Yes, thank you. Thank would look perfect on my hand, JB Star!

For something a little more demure, there's this 1.72 carat total weight fancy yellow princess cut eternity band by Diamond Brokers of Florida. Not as big as Heather's but still very pretty indeed.
